1. Used as a catalyst for the petroleum industry. It is used in the metallurgical industry to produce molybdenum. It is a raw material for the manufacture of ceramic glazes, pigments and other molybdenum compounds.
2. This product is an additive flame retardant. It has the dual functions of flame retardant and smoke suppression. It can reduce cost, improve flame retardancy and reduce smoke generation by compounding with other flame retardants. Molybdenum trioxide also has the dual effects of flame retardant and smoke suppression, and it exhibits a certain synergistic effect with aluminum hydroxide trihydrate and cerium oxide.
3. It is used as an analytical reagent for the determination of phosphate, phosphite, arsenate and penicillin by photometric method or thin layer chromatography. Also used in the photographic industry, pottery glaze.
4. It is used to prepare four-in-one surface treatment agent for degreasing, derusting, phosphating and passivating for steel bonding. Also used as a raw material for petroleum dehydrogenation and desulfurization catalysts. It can also be used to make molybdenum fertilizer in metal molybdenum, pigment and agricultural trace element fertilizer.

5. Ammonium molybdate is used as a black passivation solution for galvanizing layer, as a stabilizer in electroless nickel plating, and as an oxidant for steel phosphating solution.
